LISTENING HANDS
ACUPUNCTURE
Joey Ziegler, LAc,DAHM
I believe that the body knows what it needs to heal; we just have to know how to listen. I utilize a combination of gentle palpatory methods, mainly adapted from osteopathic medicine and traditional Japanese medicine in order to assess how and where is best to engage with your system. I see myself as a collaborator with my patients, engaging in an ongoing conversation.
In addition to acupuncture, I offer gentle bodywork, Chinese herbal medicine, as well as diet and lifestyle guidance when appropriate.
Outside of seeing patients, I am an active professional musician. I also love spending time in nature, and practicing qigong and taiji.
All healing begins with listening
From the perspective of East Asian Medicine, one of the primary determinants of health is the uninhibited and harmonious movement of and through the body’s tissues and fluids.
In the earliest texts of East Asian Medicine, the body is described mainly as an interconnected ecology of rivers and watersheds formed by the patterns of nature. The physician then is tasked with restoring the proper free flow to the watersheds of the body.
In my practice, I aim to find where in the body this innate free flow is being restricted and through acupuncture, bodywork and Chinese herbal medicine free that restriction. What physicians from the earliest records of East Asian Medicine up to now have found is that when this free flow is reestablished in the body, the system is able to regulate itself as any ecosystem can under the right circumstances.

“I’m kind of scared of needles so he took things slow and respectfully and explained what he was doing which i appreciated. You know it’s a good session when you somehow fall asleep with needles attached to you. ”
“He took care to explain his approach and communicate clearly through the treatment, providing great care with utmost professionalism in a relaxing atmosphere.”
Testimonials
“I’ve had chronic back pain for the majority of my life, and I’ve been wanting to go back to acupuncture to find some relief. I’ve had great acupuncturist in the past, but what makes Dr. Ziegler stand out is how genuinely present he was. He made it an incredibly safe space. I left the session feeling rejuvenated and felt so much relief in my back. Thank you, Dr. Ziegler!”

“Not only has Joey helped me find real relief for my ongoing issues, but his holistic approach has improved my overall well-being. Each session is both relaxing and restorative, and I always leave feeling better—both physically and mentally. What stands out the most is the warmth and kindness he brings to every appointment. ”
